The Minnesota Vikings have started the season with two losses, one of which was a heart-breaking defeat as the game came to an end. To make things worse for the Vikings, both of the games were on the road and against teams within their division.
The Vikings are ready to be back at home and to add a game to the win column as the struggling Cleveland Browns come to town. The Browns also just traded their starting running back, #3 overall pick in the 2012 draft, Trent Richardson, so there is one less thing for the Vikings to worry about this week. Not to mention the reports that they’re starting third string quarterback Brian Hoyer.
The Browns made Trent Richardson to stock up on draft picks for next years draft and enter into a rebuilding phase, pretty early in the season to throw in the towel. The Browns brass maintain that the move was made for the future.
“This was more about the moment presented itself, and based on the situation the Colts found themselves in, it wasn’t something where we could say, `Can you wait three weeks to think about this or learn more?’ We thought it was a move to make us better,” Browns CEO Joe Banner said.
“I think we feel good about where we’re at moving forward.”
