Henry Melton injury: Bears DT carted off with leg injury
By Josh Sanchez
As the Pittsburgh Steelers come roaring back in the fourth quarter, the Chicago Bears defense suffered a big blow. Defensive tackle Henry Melton get his legs tangled up with a Steelers offensive lineman and immediately went to the ground in obvious pain.
After the medical staff initially evaluated him on the field, they called for the cart and Melton road off in to the locker room.
Not only is Melton a force along the defensive line, but the injury may have cost him a lot of money. Melton is playing out this year on the franchise tender, but the injury looked severed and he could end up hitting free agency off of a severe leg injury.
For the Bears defense, which was already without Charles “Peanut” Tillman, they will need to find players to step up in the veteran’s roles as they hit the crucial stretch and look to avoid suffering a late loss to the Steelers on the road.
We will update you with more information on Melton’s injured leg as the team relays more information.
