The San Diego Chargers were losing by three points and had one play to run. It was a crazy play with lots of laterals and desperate attempts to make something happen. Finally, Danny Woodhead was carrying the ball when he was met by a few Tennessee Titans defenders.

Woodhead decided to toss it backwards to a teammate, rather poorly, and it went bouncing towards Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers. Some titans defenders were pursuing the loose ball and closing in quickly so Rivers thinking quickly decided to kick the ball across the field.

That definitely isn’t allowed and two flags were thrown on the play. To make things worse it didn’t even help really, a Titans defender recovered the ball on the other side of the field after a Chargers player failed to get a hold of it.

He still gets an A for effort and an A for creativity. The Chargers didn’t lose because Rivers didn’t play well, he completed 20 of 24 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown.
