New York Jets will do push ups for every penalty in practice
By Josh Sanchez
The New York Jets were plagued by 20 penalties during their Week 3 win over the division rival Buffalo Bills and head coach Rex Ryan is making sure that his team learns some discipline and avoids bone-headed mistakes moving forward.
According to the New York Daily News, Ryan is so frustrated with penalties that he will be making the team do ten push ups for every foul during practices.
Not only will the players be doing the push ups, but Ryan wants to see the media and owner Woody Johnson participate as well. The hope is that the team will learn to handle their responsibilities and avoid making those around them pay for their mistakes.
Hopefully there won’t be a need for everyone at practice to drop and give Rex 10, but with the New York Jets you never know.
This isn’t the first time that Ryan has used the push up strategy to set an example for his team, but he is hoping that this will be the last.
