New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks raised some eyebrows over the weekend due to some comments he made after the Giants were blasted 38-0 by the Carolina Panthers. “I can’t throw the ball to myself,” Nicks said, clearly displeased with only being targeted once during the game.

New York coach Tom Coughlin addressed the comments on Monday, making it clear that he wasn’t happy with how Nicks decided to handle the loss:

"I’ll talk to him. That’s not a smart thing to say. He’s on the field. The quarterback was sacked seven times, hit fifteen times. Not a very smart thing to say. I’ll talk to him about it, sure (USA Today Sports)."

At 0-3 on the season, the Giants are off to their worst start since 1996. Quarterback Eli Manning has especially struggled, having thrown more interceptions (eight) than touchdowns (five). Still, as understandable as Nicks’ frustration is, the team can’t afford to allow infighting to completely derail the season. Remember guys, Carl always believes in you!
