Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder could possibly miss the team’s Week 4 match up in London against the Pittsburgh Steelers thanks to a rib injury that has limited the starting signal-caller in practice.

On Thursday morning, head coach Leslie Frazier said that the team will continue to monitor Ponder’s status throughout the week to see if he can go on Sunday.

He did a little less than we were hoping; [he’s] a little sore,” coach Leslie Frazier said.  “We’ll give him more [snaps], see if he can handle it.”

If Ponder cannot play against the Steelers, it could be a blessing for the team.

Ponder has been a liability for the Vikings offense and has not allowed the team to reach their full potential, so giving back up Matt Cassel a chance to see what he can do could end up benefiting Minnesota moving forward.

Both Minnesota and Pittsburgh will be looking to record their first win of the season on Sunday and Ponder may just give the Vikings their best shot.
