The San Francisco 49ers are hoping to break out of their funk tonight, when they take on the St. Louis Rams on Thursday Night Football. One thing that would help struggling quarterback Colin Kaepernick and the offense would be the return of tight end Vernon Davis, who will be a true game-time decision.

According to CSN Bay Area, the 49ers will make a decision on whether or not Davis can play in the game after he goes through his pre-game work out on the field.

Davis is dealing with a hamstring injury and we should learn his status for the game around 7:00 p.m. ET.

If the 49ers are once again without Davis, it does not necessarily mean that the team is going to be unable to turn things around, but it certainly wouldn’t help their chances.

Last season, the 49ers were unable to record a win when facing the Rams.

In their first meeting in 2012, the Rams and 49ers came to a tie after a very even battle. In their second match up, the Rams were able to get a narrow win in overtime.

For the 49ers this season, they hope to come away more successful against Jeff Fisher and company.
