Earlier this afternoon it was announced that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin would unlikely play in their Week Four matchup against the San Diego Chargers.

Now it’s official – Miles will not play as he was officially ruled out by the team just minutes ago.

Per Around The League:

"Miles Austin is officially out for Cowboys. Te’o probable to make first start for Chargers."

Austin, who suffered a hamstring injury during the Cowboys blowout win over the St. Louis Rams in Week Three had not practiced all week, this after the team suggested the injury wasn’t ‘serious’. However, given Austin’s history of hamstring injuries, there was cause for concern.

Hopefully for Austin and the Cowboys, it will be nothing more than a once game absence which will allow Austin to rest his tender injury, though considering how nagging hamstring injuries can be, I’m sure the fear that it may return at some point this season is pretty high.

Last thing Austin and Cowboy faithful want to do is go through another year filled with hamstring issues.
