There have been rumors flying around on Twitter that the New York Giants have traded wide receiver Hakeem Nicks to the Detroit Lions, but pump the breaks, folks. The rumors are simply untrue and completely unfounded.

Rumors have placed the Lions in the market for a few receivers since Nate Burleson suffered a broken arm earlier in the week, but we say with confidence that there is no basis to the rumors of Nicks being acquired and you can rest well knowing that nothing has gone down.

One of the men who is the most dialed in with the Lions, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, made it very clear that there is nothing going on.

Besides, if a player like Nicks was traded, you would hear it from a member of the national media and not a a random Twitter account.

So we can go about our normal lives and put all of the rumors to rest.
