The Chicago Bears got some good news, cornerback Charles Tillman has been cleared to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions and arguably the league’s best receiver in Calvin Johnson. Tillman has been battling a knee and groin injury. He practiced on Friday but only as a limited participant.

From NFL.com:

"Bears cornerback Charles Tillman will play Sunday against the Detroit Lions, NFL Media’s Stacey Dales reported Saturday, citing a source close to the team."

If Calvin Johnson is Megatron does that make Charles Tillman “Optimus Prime?” His nick name is Peanut but he has been particularly effective against Johnson. In 11 games he has only allowed Johnson to have two games of over 100-yards receiving.

Megatron is having a fairly solid season so far. He has caught 17 passes through three games for 268 yards and three touchdowns. That is an average of less than 100 yards a game but it is still early in the season.

Though compared to last season it is a slow start. Last year he started the first three games with 24 receptions for 369 yards. If he could have a big game today against a less than 100% Tillman the Lions could keep their strong start to their season rolling.
