The Lakers added some depth this season at the point guard position when they brought back veteran point guard Jordan Farmar.

With Kobe Bryant still unsure when he’ll be able to return to the lineup, Blake has been working both point and shooting guard positions during the summer according to Mike Trudell on Twitter.

Not a bad move considering the depth at the shooting guard position. Blake could afford to miss some minutes at the point position, considering the bench holds himself, Farmar and Jodie Meeks. This team is going to have to prepare themselves incase Bryant ends up getting hurt again this season.

They won’t trade for anybody big since that position belongs to Bryant, so they’re going to work with what they have right now. Blake didn’t do all that bad when he was healthy last season.

With new shooting guard/small forward Nick Young on the roster, both players could split minutes when Bryant isn’t available to suit up.
