There was a report earlier on Monday that stated New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez had decided to undergo surgery on his injured shoulder, but now ESPN’s Chris Mortensen has an update and reports that Sanchez has not yet made an official decision on whether or not he will give up on his rehab to go under the knife.

Mortensen updated the report leading up to Monday Night Football between the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints.

When it comes to Mark Sanchez, there is no surprise that there are conflicting reports.

If Sanchez decides to continue his rehab and fully recovers, there is still a shot that he could return at the end of the season. If he chooses the surgical option, then his season is officially done.

Regardless of what happens, it is safe to say that Sanchez and the Jets have come to the realization that they will be parting ways at the end of the season despite the obvious struggles from rookie signal-caller Geno Smith.
