When it comes to ‘rapper’ Drake (sorry, Biggie, 2pac), you either tend to love him or well, you know.

He’s not traditional in any sense of the word but his creativity mixed with an already built in audience and alinging himself with the right people has lead to a skyrocketing career, one that now comes with the title of ‘Global Ambassador’, courtesy of the Toronto Raptors.

Today was the formal announcement that Toronto and the Raptors would be hosting the 2016 NBA All-Star Game and who better to represent Toronto and than Raptors to a global audience than the widely popular musician?

Per Pro Basketball Talk:

"“There’s a reason why we are going to submit to the league a new application for a new branding, a new image, new colors — not a new name, but new branding, and Drake will be an ambassador and help us forge this new vision, this new buzz, this new excitement where we are taking this organization,” said Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (which owns the Raptors) CEO Tim Leiweke at a press conference Monday announcing Toronto would host the 2016 All-Star Game."

In addition to the Drake news, as you can read above, the Raptors plan to give the organization an overhaul, which will include new uniforms and colors.
