Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson is lucky to be alive after he was involved in a one car accident last week in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Burleson, who broke his arm in the crash, said it was the result of falling pizza, pizza which the Lions’ wideout was attempting to stop from falling onto the floor.

Wanting to clear up any and all rumors, some of which were started by a witness who called emergency services, Burleson posted a picture of the pizza in question on his Instagram.

"I’m releasing these pix for 2 reasons: 1) I walked away from a totalled vehicle #Blessed 2) I have to hear all the pizza jokes…lol I’ll start-Yes I am the 5th Ninja Turtle. #LovePizza #LetTheJokesBegin"

First off – anybody read the pizza box? ‘Happy Pizza’? That’s probably the least happy pizza, ever.

Second – what an impact.

Third  – it’s a lot easier to replace a $15 dollar pizza than it is a $70,000 dollar car.

Glad to see Nate can take the accident in stride, considering just how gnarly the impact looked to be.
