NFL pink flags met with negative fan reaction

If the all-brown uniforms by the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football wasn’t enough, Breast Cancer Awareness Month marks the return of pink gloves, cleats, towels and even penalty flags.

Maybe it is the combination of the awful Browns uniforms and the bright pink flags, but something wasn’t working on the NFL Network broadcast and fans weren’t shy about voicing their unhappiness with the pink overload on social media.

Just how upset were people with the flags? Have a look for yourself:

Apparently everyone has forgotten that pink flags were also used last year.

What do you think of the pink penalty flags being used? Does it bother you or is it something that isn’t a big deal and can easily be ignored? Sound off in the comments section below and share your thoughts.

I think, despite the dislike of them, clearly they’re getting people talking so, it’s doing it’s intended purpose.

Please make it all go away. I almost could not watch last night. A hot pink bubblegum explosion all over the field. OVERKILL!!!!

It reminds me of the Simpson’s episode where something Bart did caused the nation to brand Springfield anti-patriotic. They changed the name of the town to Libertyville and changed the traffic lights to red white and blue lights. Accidents ensued in the confusion. The yellow flag means something and changing the color creates unnecessary confusion.

Also, I am a designer by profession and the pink does not work with the majority of the color schemes. Carolina, Oakland, Detroit kinda work. Green Bay, Chicago, Denver, Cleveland, hideous.

I really find it something so different. I think, the purpose was indeed met. Haters and lovers are talking about it. But why pink?
