When rookie B.J. Daniels was claimed off waivers by the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday, some people wondered if there were underlying motivations behind the signing. Considering the San Francisco 49ers claimed Seattle receiver Chris Harper off waivers earlier this year, the acquisition of Daniels could be seen as a retaliatory act.

Daniels, however, says that notion is ridiculous:

"I don’t agree with that at all, honestly, because in the draft process, I had Seattle come and work me out as a private workout. So this is one of the places I thought I was potentially going to get drafted (The Seattle Times)."

Okay, so how about the fact that Daniels knows some insider information about the San Francisco offense?

"That’s all overrated. It doesn’t help at all anyway, to be honest with you. It’s just one of those big, running jokes that doesn’t really mean a whole lot."

Of course, those are the exact things a spy/turncoat WOULD say, aren’t they?
