Buffalo Bills potential quarterback options

With E.J. Manuel going down with an injured knee, the Bills lack of depth at quarterback has been brought fully into the spotlight once again. Current back up Jeff Tuel seems more of a clipboard carrying kind of guy and I would be surpised if they turned over the reigns to Tuel for any length of time this season. That begs the question: What possible quarterbacks could the Bills bring in and succeed with?

After the heartbreaking loss to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night, the Bills are now 2-3. Normally 2-3 would not be a big problem but the entire AFC is playing really well with 12 out of 16 teams currently at .500 or better. That does not bode well for the Bills playoff chances. For them to succeed they will need to strike gold with a quarterback that they bring in.

NFL.com writer Marc Sessler has outlined 7 quarterbacks that he suggests head coach Doug Marrone could choose from.

Everyone has been clamoring for newly released Josh Freeman, but I think there is a solution that is even more intriguing. I could see Vince Young getting a shot at the starting job. Freeman is currently suffering from very poor decisions that reportedly caused him to fall out of favor with Greg Schiano in Tampa. That type of stench can stay with you for a while.

Meanwhile Vince Young, even though he was cut by Green Bay in the preseason, received glowing recommendations from the Packers coaches about how he performed. I think that Young has similar characteristics as Manual and would be a good leadership fit on that team. If anyone could tell the younger players that nothing is guaranteed in this league, it would be him.
