Don’t expect Josh Freeman to join Cincinnati Bengals

With the Cincinnati Reds having just fired manager Dusty Baker after he was on the hot seat, the next man on the hottest seat in the Cincinnati sports scene right now is Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, as the third-year man out of TCU actually looks like he’s regressed in his play in what many view as a make-or-break year for him.

There’s the train of thought that he’s not improving because he’s had no one to challenge his for his job. One player who could put some heat on Dalton to perform well is the recently released Josh Freeman.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers starter is sitting on the market with no reported interest, and could certainly be had for a manageable price.

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer pointed out a bit of information that likely means there will be no Freeman signing with the Bengals, at least not while Dalton is still on the team:
