It didn’t look good for New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley as he missed practice throughout the week and the team officially decided to rule him out on Friday for their Week 5 match up against the Cincinnati Bengals.

It’s a tough outing for the Patriots as they fight to stay undefeated, but they will have to do so without the services of their top back.

With Ridley on the sideline, LeGarrette Blount and Brandon Bolden will split carries with Blount getting the early down carries and Bolden serving as the third-down back.

New England will again rely heavily on the passing attack with Tom Brady and the young, unproven wideouts.

It is only a matter of time until the team gets the services of Rob Gronkowski back, so the offense should be more well-rounded in a matter of weeks.

For fantasy football owners, you can begin to check your options at running back now that it is confirmed Ridley will be out of action.
