Oakland Raiders’ RB Darren McFadden sends mixed message on injury status
Well, if Oakland Raiders’ fans had any doubt as to whether or not running back Darren McFadden would play, he seems to have put those to rest; or created a bigger mystery about his status for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers, depending on how you interpret his quotes.
McFadden injured his hamstring in last week’s 24-14 loss to the Washington Redskins, and shed light, or didn’t on his status in an interview with CSN Bay Area’s Scott Bair.
“Hamstrings are one of those things you want to be careful with,” McFadden said after Friday’s practice. “I’d rather miss one or two games than to come back and pop it and miss four or five.”
Missing two games would put McFadden out until October 27th, as the Raiders have a bye after next week’s contest against the Chiefs. So basically 4 weeks anyway.
The oft injured running back continued.
“I think it’s going to help me out a whole lot,” McFadden said. “But at the same time we’re just taking it day-to-day right now.”
If you happen to own McFadden in your fantasy leagues, I’d fairly confidently say sit him. Injured hamstring, uncertainty… yes, it doesn’t sound like a safe bet.
Terrelle Pryor will be back though, so it’s not all bad news for Raider Nation.
