Rob Gronkowski does not travel with New England Patriots, Danny Amendola does
By Bryan Rose
The likelihood that tight end Rob Gronkowski would take the field for the New England Patriots this weekend was slim, but it was a question that still needed an answer. Now we have it, thanks to ESPN’s Adam Schefter who reports Gronk did not accompany the Patriots to Cincinnati where they will take on the Bengals.
Per Schefter:
"Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is not traveling to Cincinnati and is out for Sunday. Pats WR Danny Amendola is traveling and is questionable."
Despite being without Gronkowski for another week, Schefter does point out Amendola traveling with the team which is clearly a positive sign.
Amendola’s status all week has been questionable, though a positive day of practice on Friday encouraged all sides to his potential availability for this weekend.
It’s likely Amendola will be a game-time decision as the Patriots will see how he feels after he goes through warmups. Add in the fact that the Patriots coaching staff doesn’t want the Bengals to know if Amendola will play or not, it’s doubtful we know much until Sunday morning in regards to his game status.
