First the Jacksonville Jaguars lose their second overall draft pick Luke Joeckel to an ankle injury in the first quarter against the St. Louis Rams, and now they lose another starter to an injury. Starting quarterback Blaine Gabbert hurt himself in the third quarter while trying to convert on a third down play.

He took the ball and scrambled to the right to make a throw for a conversion, but ultimately missed his target as the ball was knocked down. After the play, Gabbert immediately walked, or limped, over to the bench and Chad Henne was put in his place.

After a little  over two quarters through the game, Gabbert had nine throws in 19 attempts, for 181 yards and one touchdown, with two interceptions.

This is very disappointing for the team and its fans. The Jags started out the game pretty hot, as Justin Blackmon made his season debut known to everyone, but from there the team hasn’t been able to keep up with Sam Bradford and the Rams. There is still a majority of the fourth quarter left, so maybe Chad Henne will be able to spark a fire under the Jags as they look to get their first win of the season.
