The Philadelphia Eagles came into the game against the New York Giants looking for a win, hoping that a Dallas Cowboys loss would give them a share of the lead in the NFC East. Unfortunately, the Eagles found themselves down a touchdown early in the game against the win-less Giants.
The Eagles were facing a third and 19 when some old school Michael Vick magic happened.
Vick dropped back in the pocket and the Giants’ defensive ends were collapsing the pocket on both sides of Vick. He almost disappears for a minute but eventually breaks forward scrambling straight ahead. As he approaches midfield and the first down line, he breaks it towards the near side line a bit to extend the play a bit further.
At that point you can really see Vick out running some Giants defenders, who are chasing him and losing ground. Had he beaten that last defender that brought him down, it looks like he would have taken it to the house.
That has to have the Eagles feeling optimistic despite the early touchdown from the Giants.
