Coming into the 2013 NFL preseason, there was a lot of speculation as to who would win the Philadelphia Eagles’ starting quarterback job, Nick Foles or Michael Vick.

But just as quickly as the potential position battle began, it was over as Vick was named the starting quarterback prior to the preseason ever concluding.

Now, with Michael Vick hurt and all but sidelined for Week 6, Foles, who will likely draw the start could potentially keep the job, depending on how he plays.

When speaking with the media today, Eagles head coach Chip Kelly would not close the door on Foles remaining in the gig if all goes well:

Per Jeff McLane:

"Chip Kelly again did not rule out chance that Nick Foles could win job if he starts and plays well on Sunday."

At 2-3, the Eagles aren’t exactly lighting things up and Vick hasn’t been overly impressive through the first five weeks, but it would seemingly take quite a performance for Foles to keep the job – this assuming he gets the start in Week 6.
