Witness testimony began today, and the first round of those have concluded:
Jones has pleaded not guilty and was released shortly after his June arrest. He is accused of hitting a 34-year-old woman at a downtown Cincinnati nightclub. A police report listed the injury as minor.
Because of Jones’ previous legal troubles, he may be handed a small suspension from the NFL at some point next season, as there may not be and closure in this case in time for the league to suspend Jones over it.
He previously pleaded guilty to misdemeanor disorderly conduct after he shouted profanities and tried to pull away as police arrested him at a Cincinnati bar in 2011.
