Florida State redshirt freshman quarterback Jameis Winston has taken the college football world by storm since his debut against Pitt earlier this season. He has literally been everything that Florida State fans dreamed he would be since he gave his verbal commitment to the ‘Noles. He’s a leader, he’s dynamic, he’s ultra-talented.

He almost seemed to remind those Seminoles faithful of another two-sport star very familiar to them. Someone who is considered maybe the best player to don the garnet and gold ever–former Heisman and national championship winning QB, Charlie Ward.

The comparisons were thrown out from day one of Winston’s commitment and, so far, they seem to be coming to fruition slowly before our eyes. “Famous Jameis” is climbing everyone’s Heisman ballot week by week, and the ‘Noles are currently undefeated with title hopes still alive.

Today, Ward gave his thoughts on the man that many people now believe can surpass him in Florida State lore, and the former FSU great had nothing but high praise:

It’s a Florida State fan’s dream of generations colliding.
