New York Giants say running back David Wilson out for Week 6
By Bryan Rose
After suffering a neck injury early in Week 5, there was question if New York Giants starting running back David Wilson would play in Week 6.
That question is no more as the Giants, namely head coach Tom Coughlin, ruled Wilson out for their Week 6 game against the Chicago Bears.
Per Dan Graziano:
"Coughlin confirms David Wilson will not play this week."
Wilson and the Giants will play on Thursday evening, so there was very limited recovery time for the running back who, despite being at practice, was unable to participate.
The running back initially appeared to have a head injury as he was slow to get up and looked slightly dazed after initial impact, though was able to get off the field under his own power against the Philadelphia Eagles. Wilson made his way to the locker room and then back out, before returning to the locker room and missing the remainder of the Giants’ Week 5 contest.
Both Da’Rel Scott (who was recently re-signed after being cut) and Brandon Jacobs should see the majority of carries against the Bears.
