It’s not been the best start to the season for Buffalo Bills ‘starting’ running back C.J. Spiller. In addition to sharing time with Fred Jackson still, Spiller has dealt with a few scary injury situations, which at least momentarily looked potentially devastating.

Despite that, Spiller has continued to march out onto the field though the results have been pretty ineffective.

Spiller’s most recent nagging injury, an ankle sprain that limited his action during the Bills loss to the Cleveland Browns last Thursday continues to give him problems as he was reportedly seen limping around Bills practice:

"CJ Spiller is out here but has a bit of a limp. #Bills"

While Spiller did reel off an impressive sixty plus yard run during the loss to the Bills, it was really the only carry of any value that Spiller had in the game as he only had eight touches on thirteen snaps. Compare that to Jackson’s fifty snaps and it was clear that Spiller, despite playing, was still hampered by the injury.

Obviously, it’s a good sign Spiller has been practicing, but the fact he still has a limp from an injury that was sustained in Week 4 is a bit concerning.
