Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall had the idea of wearing green shoes during Thursday night’s game against the New York Giants.

The green shoes were to represent Mental Health Awareness Week, something that’s special and means a lot to Marshall, as he has faced his own mental health issues. Last season, the league threatened to toss Earl Bennett from the game if he worse orange shoes during a game.

Not sure what the leagues problem is, but they need to lighten up a little bit. Yeah, it may be a little distracting, but nobody on the field just stands there and stares at the kicks of their opponent or teammate.

"“I’m going to get fined and I’m going to match that, and we want to partner with a cancer-care [charity]. We’re still working on the details to give, really give back to an organization that is doing work in the mental health area. [Also], the diagnosis of breast cancer can hit families hard. It affects us all.” Brandon Marshall told ESPN.com."

There is no word yet on if he’s actually going to wear the shoes and face a possible ejection from the game. I say, just let the man wear the shoes if it’s for a good cause, but we all know how uptight the league is. It’s either their way or you get fined and suspended.
