Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson wasn’t worried about being covered by Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis. Jackson’s plan is simple, out run Revis.

“I don’t think he can run with me,” Jackson said. “I don’t think he’s as fast as me.”

Revis wasn’t arguing that point. In fact he rather bluntly agreed.

“I’m not fast; I’ve never been fast,” said Revis with a laugh.  “I’m not fast; [Jackson]’s fast.  Fast people are allowed to say those types of things.  I’ve covered him before in the past and it was a good battle.  We’ll see what happens this time around.  I’m not here to discuss who’s the fastest.  I’m not running for the Olympics and he’s not either.  I’m just here to compete and play.”

Speaking of the olympics, one of Revis’ teammates is a world class sprinter, running back Jeff Demps. So it has probably been easy for Revis to practice covering a quick receiver ahead of the game. So is Revis worried about Jackson and his speed?

“I did in the past.  It’s no problem.”

Revis is reminding Jackson, and doubters, that this isn’t the first time these two have met before. The last time they met, when Revis was with the Jets, they lost the game, but Jackson only caught two passes for 28 yards.
