The Detroit Lions offense took a hit when wide receiver Nate Burleson went down with an injury. Burleson broke his arm in a car crash caused by him trying to save a slice of pizza. Just over a couple of weeks removed from the injury Burleson is already back at the facilities and at practice.

“We’ve got to win this game and I am not going to be a ghost wandering around the facility,” Burleson said, via the Detroit News. “I want to be seen, I want to be heard, I still want to show these guys how to approach each day in practice.”

Burleson was as surprised at his quick return as we are. Burleson however isn’t expecting to return till their week 10 game against the Chicago Bears on November 10th.

“It was a little unexpected; I am not due back on the field yet,” Burleson said. “I can run, the tennis balls help with hand-eye coordination. But on top of that, I wanted to be out there for the guys. I want to be able to lead and talk to them, even if it’s just a little bit of encouragement seeing me out there running around.”

It certainly is impressive and could be motivating.
