Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson missed Thursday’s practice due to what was called personal issues, but no further details were released. Now, one day later after the star running back was spotted in South Dakota,  Stu Whitney of the Argus South Dakota Leader is reporting that Peterson remains in Souix Falls as he’s “dealing with [a] medical issue involving [a] young family member that likely will be a police matter.”

It is reportedly a “very serious” health issue.

There are really no details about what Peterson is dealing with, but you would have to imagine that it is only a matter of time until his situation comes to light.

While you do not want to jump to any conclusions, Pro Football Talk passed along a police report that involves a man charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery of an infant, while a toddler is reportedly in critical condition.

It is important to remember that the two situations are not directly linked, but it could be something to keep an eye on.

The Minnesota Vikings host the Carolina Panthers in Week 6, but at this point football doesn’t appear to be on Peterson’s mind — and it shouldn’t.
