As more details emerge in the family issue surrounding Minnesota Vikings star Adrian Peterson, the more disturbing it has become. Reports have stated that Adrian Peterson’s two-year-old son has been severely beaten by the boyfriend of his mother which has landed him in critical condition.

One 27-year-old man in Souix Falls, South Dakota, Robert Joseph Patterson, has been charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery of an infant in the case.

Peterson missed Vikings practice on Thursday to travel to South Dakota and deal with the unfortunate situation.

TMZ passed along the report and states that Peterson’s son has severe head injuries that are consistent with abuse.

If everything in the report is to be believed, this is an incredibly difficult time for Peterson and his family. We can hope that the reports are false, but there appears to be mounting evidence that Patterson has done the unthinkable.

We can wish for the best and pass along our well wishes to Peterson and his loved ones until more information becomes available.
