Ah yes, the elusive special teams touchdown. Unless you’re a returner, your chances of a touchdown on special teams are quite slim so when a fumbling, bumbling ball comes bouncing your way, your first instinct is to pick it up and run. But when you whiff, you quickly go from hero to goat in a matter of seconds, which is exactly how Green Bay Packers fullback John Kuhn likely feels.

On fourth down and 13, backed up to their own 30-yard line, the Baltimore Ravens decided they’d punt the ball away though pressure from the Packers came up the middle, resulting in the punt being blocked. It wasn’t a full block as the ball did advance forward some, but not much as it wiggled its way fifteen yards or so before Kuhn, who was all alone, decided to pick up the ball and run. Only problem? He forgot the ball. That allowed James Ihedigbo (?) to fall on top of the ball, which had advanced past the Ravens’ first down marker giving Baltimore a new set of downs.
