To say Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub is dealing with an immense amount of pressure this Sunday would be quite an understatement.
The quarterback, who said prior to the season that it was ‘Super Bowl or bust’ for the Texans is a poorly thrown game away from being benched, something that nearly happened this week. Head coach Gary Kubiak said it was a ‘tough decision’ in regards to not benching Schuab for backup T.J. Yates. And while Schaub hasn’t exactly looked overly impressive on the field so far today, he’s clearly feisty, something Rams linebacker Daren Bates found out.
As the Texans were driving, Schuab tossed a pass to the front corner of the end zone which was dropped. Schuab, who had rolled out on the play was brought down by a few Rams with Bates a touch late getting there.
That didn’t sit well with the Texans quarterback who, well, I’m not sure what he was planning to do here, but it seemed like he had grand intentions at first.
More confused than Schaub though was likely Bates, who was trying to figure out why his foot felt like it was caught in a bear trap.
