The Detroit Lions are still trying to figure out if they’ll have wide receiver Calvin Johnson. He was wearing a knee brace up until Friday, when he practiced with out it. It was a good sign indeed, but  Johnson is still considered a game time decision.

The issue might not be as black and white as playing or not playing. The Lions could use Johnson in a limited role if they’re still on the fence about whether to play him in

The Lions could find a happy medium if Johnson is available in certain situations. He plays a crucial role in their offense and would have a huge impact on the direction of the game.

The Lions are playing the Browns. They might be without quarterback Brian Hoyer, but the Browns have a top 10 defense. Their pass defense is ranked 7th in the country and are only allowing 207.6 yards per game. The Lions are already struggling with depth at wide receiver with Johnson healthy and will use him as much as they can, even if it is only on 3rd downs and in the red zone.

Reggie Bush could have a big game and get some extra receptions this week.
