The Wisconsin Badgers could be without wide receiver  Jared Abbrederis when they travel to Illinois to take on the Fighting Illini Saturday.

Abbrederis was injured in the Badgers’ 35-6 victory over the Northwestern Wildcats Saturday. In the game, Abbrederis had two receptions for 74 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown catch.

Abbrederis did not play in the second half, but the Badgers have not been able to pinpoint the exact play he was injured on, but quarterback Joel Stave said “you could tell something was a little off.” Since the injury Abbrederis suffered is a head injury, the Badgers are being very careful with him and he will be evaluated over the next few days.

Badgers head coach Gary Andersen said they’d know more about Abbrederis’ status  “in the next 48 hours.”

On the season, the 6’2, 188 lb. senior out of Wautoma, Wisconsin has 35 receptions for 646 yards and five touchdowns. Over the course of his career, he now has 159 catches for 2,705 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Kickoff between the Badgers and the Fighting Illini is scheduled for 8:00 pm EST Saturday and the game is on the Big 10 Network.
