The Philadelphia Eagles have a good problem to have on their hands. They have two very capable quarterbacks of starting caliber in Michael Vick and Nick Foles. After Vick guided the Eagles to a 1-3 start, the clamoring for Nick Foles got a bit louder.

Michael Vick went down with an injury against the New York Giants in week 5, Nick Foles came in and guided them to their second win of the season. Foles completed 16 of 25 passes to throw for 197 yards, and  two touchdowns. In the following game, Foles completed 22 of 31 passes for 296  yards and three touchdowns.

“Mike was hurt, it was my job to go in there and get a win,” said Foles.

Vick’s injury in the Giants win was a hamstring injury. He is listed as probable but still not 100 percent. On Sunday, Vick was active as an ’emergency quarterback’ but has no definite time table for his return.

The plan for the Eagles, according to offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, is to stick with Foles until Vick is healthy. When they get to that point, then and only then, will they reevaluate the quarterback position and decide on a starter.

Basically, if Foles comes out and plays like he has again, throw a couple touchdowns, avoid turn overs, win the game, he could earn the starting job and Vick could be relegated to the back up role.
