Houston Texans’ Danieal Manning out for season, sign Elbert Mack
By David Miniel
Some disappointing news for one of the nicest players I have ever met, as Danieal Manning of the Houston Texans will be placed on the injured reserve which will end his season.
Manning suffered a fractured right fibula in Sunday’s loss to the St. Louis Rams. His recovery time right now is around eight weeks but the Texans decided to put him on the shelf for the remainder of the season instead.
This season Manning has recorded 24 combined tackles with one sack, that came against the San Diego Chargers as seen as the picture above. The former Chicago Bear has only missed nine games in his eight year career, which is pretty impressive.
I’m sure it’s tough on Manning right now, but knowing him, he’s in high spirits like always. Just because he’s shelved for the rest of the season doesn’t mean he won’t be in the face of every defensive back on the sidelines, getting in their ears while the offense is on the field trying to do their thing.
Now with Manning out for the remainder of the year, the Texans have signed 27 year old corner-back Elbert Mack. Mack spent four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2008-2011, a season with the New Orleans Saints last season and now the Houston Texans.
He’s recorded 103 tackles and six interceptions since being drafted by Tampa Bay in 2008.
