When Muggsy Bogues played in the NBA he overcame his height to be a great player and a legend. The fact that he was able to play for 14 years in the NBA, despite being 5’3″ is simply incredible.

While in Asia to help promote the NBA’s global game Muggsy Bogues ran into Yao Ming and chatted him up for a bit. The NBA’s deputy commissioner Adam Silver capture the moment with this Instagram photo below.

Muggsy Bogues is no stranger to standing next to tall people though. When he joined the NBA he had the 7’7″ Manute Bol as a teammate. At the time, they were both the tallest and shortest NBA players in history. Sports Illustrated even took a picture of them standing next to each other.

Yao Ming isn’t as tall as Bol is, but he is close, Ming is 7’6″ tall. It is always awesome to see tall people stand next to regular height to get  a perspective on how actually tall they are.

Don’t feel bad Muggsy, he makes other taller people look short too.
