Derrick Favors agrees to a four year extension with the Utah Jazz
By David Miniel
It now looks as if the Utah Jazz are fully committed to big man Derrick Favors as both sides have agree’d to a four year contract extension according to Yahoo Sports.
The deal is estimated to be worth around $49 million, which is a lot of only four seasons. The 22 year old forward/center is clearly the building block for this team as they are hoping for playoff appearances in the future.
I mean that’s every teams goal, right? If it isn’t your goal, then what are you doing in this league? Anyways, Favors is a talented young man who does have the potential to leading a team of his own. This deal is giving him exactly that.
He’s steadily getting better as his career continues forward and is currently having an amazing pre-season. If he continues his play into the regular season, there’s no reason why Favors couldn’t have a break out year.
Good thing Utah got this deal done before this possible break out year happened. Imagine what they would have to dish out to him in order for both sides to agree on extension.
But at the same time, with a center piece like Favors, wouldn’t it be worth it?
In about a couple of seasons, we’re all about to find out.
