Well once again the St. Louis Cardinals are in the World Series and with their young and talented rotation, are looking like an early favorite to win it all.

If the Boston Red Sox happen to win tonight’s game against the Detroit Tigers, they’ll set up a 2004 World Series rematch. The Red Sox swept the Cardinals in that series and won their first World Series title since 1918, giving the Chicago Cubs the title of ‘Longest Championship Drought in Baseball history’.

Anyways, back to the St. Louis Cardinals. Infielder Allen Craig hasn’t played a single inning this post-season but seems to be interested in playing in the World Series. Who wouldn’t right?

"“If it’s up to me, I’ll be there. I’m ready. I feel I can help.” Allen Craig told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch"

Craig took around 10 at bats against live pitching on Friday during a simulated game and had no problems. If he does end up returning to their lineup, it could be to fill in at the designated hitter’s slot when the Cardinal’s go to either Detroit or Boston.

St. Louis may put him through one more hitting session to see where he stands and could very well end up playing in the Series.
