In advance of Sunday afternoon’s AFC North rivalry match up against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens have added linebacker Jameel McClain to the active roster. It was a spinal cord contusion that kept McClain on the physically-unable to perform list for the first six weeks of the season.

The injury also kept McClain out of the final three games of the regular season a year ago, along with the entire postseason.

McClain was a full participant in practice all weekend long, so he was expected to be on the 53-man roster in advance of the game with the Steelers.

To make room for McClain on the roster, the team needed to part ways with tight end Billy Bajema.

McClain is an experienced defender who has started nearly fifty games for the Ravens during his time in Baltimore, so he should provide a big boost to the team on Sunday afternoon in the Steel City. Hopefully he can be the spark the team needs to shut down the Steelers.
