Nothing lasts forever and for the Miami Heat, that will hold true. It may hold true sooner than later though, at least according to a veteran NBA scout.

The Sun Sentential recently sat down with the longtime talent evaluator who has spent over two decades in the league and asked him a variety of questions related to the Miami Heat, one of which was the status of LeBron James.

He didn’t hold any punches, suggesting that it is only a matter of time until LeBron leaves:

"“Guys are going to move on. Those guys will move on probably, at some point, if not next summer, then at some point. I think the more reasonable thinking is LeBron’s not going to stay, Wade’s going to get older. If Wade’s not there, I guess they can replace him. LeBron’s status? Is he really there long term? I just don’t think people see them as a New York Yankees or Celtics.”"

Unlike Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan, who spent their careers in one uniform, James has already departed his first destination so it’s unlikely he values staying in one spot too much. Of course, when you think of Jordan or Bryant, you think of the Chicago Bulls or Los Angeles Lakers so it’s possible James may want to create a lasting memory in a single locale but given his past choices, that doesn’t seem to be the case as of right now.
