After half the season, it looks like the Arizona Cardinals seem to be the worst team in the NFC West, still. High expectations for Carson Palmer have been doused and the offense just isn’t what the fans in Phoenix were hoping for. So what are the options in the second half for Zona?

The Seahawks, 49ers and Rams have all built their teams through getting their quarterbacks through the draft. Arizona looks primed to pick up a pretty good spot in this season’s draft, but will it be enough to get ‘the guy’? They’re not completely inept, so they’ll be close but the most likely scenario is that they’ll come up short of a top two or three quarterback.

With a trade though, it could be. Larry Fitzgerald offers the Cards a piece that they could ‘give up’ for some draft picks and probably still get a decent receiver in return. That would give Arizona the ammo to go after a top three spot in the draft.

It’s never a popular thing to give up your franchise player, but it’s how the Rams have moved up to contention this season. Seattle’s done it a few times over the last four or five seasons, as well as San Francisco. It may be time for Arizona to consider this move.

I can’t even imagine how amazing it would be to have Bradford, Wilson, Kaepernick and Teddy Bridgewater all in the same conference for the next six or seven seasons.
