Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre wasn’t necessarily fond of current Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers when he was behind him on the depth chart. Favre notoriously scoffed at the notion that his was responsibility to mentor Rodgers while the two played together. Eventually, the Packers got tired of Favre’s retirement indecisiveness and made the tough decision to move on from Favre and move forward with Rodgers.

But Favre does have a soft spot for Rodgers or an interest in Rodgers succeeding, at least this season. According to Anthony Biase, a field producer for NFL Network, Brett Favre told him that Aaron Rodgers is on his fantasy team.

Putting aside any ill feelings towards Rodgers for the sake of your fantasy football team might be a smart decision. Rodgers has completed 64.1% of his passes this season, thrown for 1,646 yards and 10 touchdowns.

In ESPN Leagues with standard scoring, Rodgers is the 8th highest scoring player with 100 points. Definitely a quality quarterback to build your fantasy team around. Favre has praised Rodgers recently though and even said that he’ll shatter his records.

“Aaron has played extremely well, probably even better than anyone anticipated, but I knew he was capable of that and that’s why they drafted him,” Favre said, via ESPN. “Barring any injury he’ll shatter everything I ever did there except for maybe consecutive games.”
