The Dallas Cowboys played well despite their injury plagued roster. One of their key injuries was defensive end DeMarcus Ware, who sat out the first game of his college career with a quad injury. Experts pegged his timetable for a return at 3-4 weeks, but he said he was expecting something more along the lines of 1-2 weeks. Ware is ready to start the road to recovery tomorrow.

“All I know is I start running on Monday and we’ll know from there,” Ware said, via ESPN Dallas.

The defensive line is one of the most injury plagued positions for the Cowboys. They desperately could use Ware, but defensive tackle Jason Hatcher and George Selvie have been playing well.

“We have guys that can come in there and play and still be effective, still get pressure on the quarterback,” Ware said. “Not having guys healthy, that’s what you want, then when everybody gets healthy you’re hitting it full steam.”

Ware did find the sideline view to be beneficial though, though he probably isn’t very fond of it and would prefer to be on the field. The Cowboys could use him next week against the Detroit Lions. Quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Lions offense has been rolling lately. With Calvin Johnson catching everything thrown his way, getting some pressure on Stafford is a must.
