It’s not easy being a top wide receiver in the NFL. One-on-one coverage is nearly obsolete, something that Calvin Johnson of the Detroit Lions knows all too well. He also knows hard hits, though with the frame of a linebacker, Johnson can usually absorb the blows with relative easy.

Not so much today thanks to a crushing blow from a Cincinnati Bengals defender.

As Johnson was running a crossing route, he looked to have position on the opposing defensive back though as Megatron went up to grab the ball, Bengals safety George IIoka unleashed a powerful shot to the chest of Johnson, separating him from his helmet.

Shockingly, Johnson didn’t come away from the hit too worse for the wear, though I can’t imagine he was feeling too hot after the hit.

Big hit or not, it hasn’t stopped Johnson from shredding the Bengals’ solid defense so far, posting 40 reception yards through the first quarter of action.

Wonder if Diddy is glad he opted to let Johnson deal with the on-field play while he takes the off-field drama?
