Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles hit Houston Texans linebacker Brian Cushing with a low block during Sunday’s game. Cushing was injured on the play and suffered a torn LCL and a broken leg on the play, ending his season early for the second year in a row.

Some speculated that the hit was dirty, or intentional, but the two players involved don’t seem to be harboring any ill will towards each other. Jamaal Charles sent Cushing a tweet saying that he wished him a speedy recovery and hates to see anyone get injured on the field.

Cushing tweeted back saying he appreciates the gesture and understands he was just doing his job. The block this year came from the front, last year when Cushing was blocked low it came from behind. He seems to be more understanding of this one.

Cushing has been given a three-month time-table for his recovery. Fortunately he did manage to avoid any damage to his ACL, PCL, and MCL. Cushing should be back in time for the offseason program and ready to prepare for hopefully a full season of action.
