The Houston Texans announced they’ve cut three rookies today, and the most notable cut was Sam Montgomery, a third-round pick out of LSU, who never showed the work ethic or desire to make an impact for the Texans. It didn’t help he was moved to outside linebacker, even though his skill set didn’t translate to outside linebacker as hoped, and he eventually was moved back to defensive end, where Montgomery wasn’t getting any playing time.

While we don’t know what led to his release today, one thing is for certain, and that is Montgomery needed a change of scenery after already getting buried in he dog house of Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiak. He needs to own up to whatever mistakes he’s made, and pledge not to make them going forward.

But who will give him a chance now?
